Q: What motivated you to begin teaching?
A: My motivation to begin teaching started 30 years ago.  I was 10 years old playing at the time a very male dominated sport.  There were little to no kids or women playing.  There were not really any programs for me and I was really treated like an outcast.  I knew way back then I wanted to make a difference and give women and kids the opportunities that I didn’t have.

Q: What has been the most impactful moment in your teaching career thus far?
A: I have 2.  The first was 10 years ago.  I became a Head Professional for 2 years prior to joining the staff at Cobblestone.  I was one of 135 females in the country to have that role at that time.  For me that made a huge impact in my career I carried a huge sense of pride that to this day has stayed with me.

The second came last year.  I have been at Cobblestone Creek for 8 years now and have gotten many ladies to try golf over that time but last year it really clicked and I got over 25 women playing the game.  It was really fun and rewarding and I really felt I made an impact on all of them.  The majority are back at it again this year and there is a huge excitement that is fun all around!

Q: What advice do you have for a beginner picking up the game?
A: Be patient!! This game takes time to learn.  There will be ups and downs but if you stick with it the reward on the other side is priceless! Most importantly have fun!!

Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A: It is rewarding to do what I love to do every single day of my life! Being able to share what I love through my teaching and programming.

Q: In your opinion, what makes golf great and fun?
A: 3 or 93, Male or female, athletic or maybe not so much! There is a place on the golf course for everyone! You are outside enjoying a cross between nature and man made beauty.  There is a sense of peace on the golf course.  And for me a place to let all the “noise” of everyday life go away!
