KemperSports Partners with City of Mansfield (TX) for Renovation and Operation of Mansfield Sports Park

A $12.5 Million Transformation to Create a Premier Destination for  Sports and Community Events

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Jan. 16, 2025 – KemperSports, a leader in sports facility management and operations, is proud to announce its new public-private partnership with the City of Mansfield (TX) for the renovation and operation of the Mansfield Sports Park, formerly known as Big League Dreams. This collaboration is part of a broader trend in sports and community redevelopment initiatives aimed at revitalizing spaces to better serve local communities and attract regional and national attention through public-private partnerships. This agreement underscores a shared commitment to reimagine the park’s potential and position it as a premier destination for sports, community events and recreation.

The partnership is centered around a complete renovation of the existing complex, including artificial turf replacement to include infields and outfields, lighting and attached infrastructure to meet modern standards while supporting a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports.

“Our vision is to transform the Mansfield Sports Park into a premier, future-forward destination that sets the national standard for youth sports facilities while seamlessly integrating with the community and adjacent developments,” said Mansfield City Manager Joe Smolinski. “By reimagining every aspect of the park – from cutting-edge sports amenities to vibrant community spaces –we aim to provide top-tier facilities that also serve as a hub for cultural and community events, ensuring year-round engagement and making the complex a cornerstone of the Mansfield community.”

The facility will also see an upgraded playground, expanded and improved food and beverage offerings, and enhanced spectator facilities – making it a popular destination for families to recreate. The indoor facility will be converted into a baseball/softball training facility to include batting cages, pitching tunnels, a training infield and sports performance training area. A diverse calendar of community events, such as arts and craft fairs, concerts, movie nights and community festivals, will also be considered in the reimagination of the complex.

KemperSports will partner with REV Entertainment, a leader in sports and entertainment, to rebrand the park, reimagine its programming and reposition it as an elite tournament destination. KemperSports will oversee the design and construction during park renovations and serve as the day-to-day operator upon completion, with REV Entertainment, operators of the in-progress Mansfield Stadium nearby, supporting services on behalf of the City.

The revitalization process will begin immediately. As the park remains closed for renovations, updates will be shared regularly with the community. The park will re-open after the completion of renovations in the Summer of 2025.
