Position Summary

The Facilities Director will oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of the sports complex. This role requires a leader with technical expertise, organizational skills, and a commitment to providing a superior experience for athletes, staff, and visitors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Facility Maintenance and Operations
    1. Manage the maintenance of all indoor and outdoor facilities, including synthetic turf fields, indoor turf, batting cages, and common areas.
    2. Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure facility longevity and safety.
    3. Oversee contractors and vendors for repairs, renovations, and routine services.
  1. Safety and Compliance
    1. Ensure the facility complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
    2. Conduct regular inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
    3. Maintain up-to-date permits, licenses, and certifications required for operations.
  2. Team Management
    1. Recruit, train, and supervise the maintenance and facilities staff.
    2. Develop schedules and assign tasks to ensure efficient operation and upkeep.
    3. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  3. Budget Management
    1. Develop and manage the facilities budget, including maintenance, repairs, and utility expenses.
    2. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  4. Event Support
    1. Coordinate with the Tournament and Event Director to ensure facilities are prepared for scheduled events.
    2. Oversee the setup and teardown of facilities for programs, leagues, and special events.
  5. Customer Experience
    1. Ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and visually appealing to enhance guest satisfaction.
    2. Address customer feedback related to facility conditions promptly and professionally.
  6. Continuous Improvement
    1. Identify opportunities for upgrades or improvements to keep the facility competitive.
    2. Stay informed of industry trends and new technologies in sports facility management.

 

Education/Qualifications/Certifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Sports Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in facility management, preferably within sports or recreation.
  • Knowledge of synthetic turf maintenance, HVAC systems, and general facility repairs.
  • Proficiency in maintenance programs, management software and tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for sports and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of all safety programs.
  • Work as a Team Player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround time, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
